"Seeing the constant activity taking place makes you long for the days of being a new student all over again."
- Alan Bern B'01
It is difficult to imagine another city having the same impact on one’s college experience as New Orleans did for us. The city was not only our classroom, but our playground. Whether your perfect afternoon was spent wandering the galleries on Royal St., playing a pickup game at a crawfish boil on the levee, or enjoying a cold drink at the Boot (am I allowed to mention the Boot?), New Orleans became our home, no matter how far we have traveled since.
While there have been many changes to campus since we left – a brand new baseball stadium, countless new dorms and the addition of a state-of-the-art University Center – one thing that remains the same is the energy you feel when you step back on campus. Seeing the constant activity taking place makes you long for the days of being a new student all over again.
As president of the Tulane Alumni Association in Houston, I have the opportunity to meet countless prospective, recently accepted and current students. I can assure you that the future of Tulane is very bright. The caliber of students who have chosen to attend school in New Orleans, each ready to take on and conquer any challenge presented to them, is truly amazing. I hope that not only will you take this opportunity to support future of these students and our alma mater, but that you will plan to visit campus this fall for Homecoming to meet some of them for yourselves. You will not be let down.
